Make your own Playdoh!

Follow this simple salt dough recipe to make your own playdoh at home!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 packet of Kool Aid drink mix (for yummy smell and color)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon oil (vegetable, olive, canola, coconut...whatever you have at home)

Directions:

1. Mix together the flour and salt in a big mixing bowl. Set aside.

2. In a small bowl, combine water and Kool Aid packet, stirring to dissolve the powder. Also add your oil to this mixture.

3. Once you have thoroughly mixed your wet ingredients together, add them to your dry ingredients.

4. Knead and mix your dough until it all comes together in a soft dough. If your dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour. If it's too dry, add a bit more water and oil.

You can store this dough in an air tight container so it won't dry out. You may also use cookie cutters to make fun shapes and let them dry out. If you'd like to bake your dough to make it dry more quickly, you can place your creations in the oven at 250 degrees for 60 minutes. Let them cool and then paint or color on your clay creations. Have fun and explore all the fun things you can make with this easy recipe!
