The Prosillio Academic Program is designed for secondary school students (years 7-13) engaged in high-level dance and sport training outside of school. "Prosillio," derived from Latin, means to aspire or step up to challenges with confidence and enthusiasm. This program caters to students who demonstrate commitment to their dance or sports training, aiming for future professional success.
Integrating individual training with their academic timetable allows students to dedicate more hours to their training and build their academic program around their passion.
The Prosillio program is designed to accommodate the needs of students who are balancing rigorous training schedules with academic study.
Students work with their Learning Advisor to create a personalised timetable, ensuring they can meet their academic goals while maintaining a rigorous training schedule. This approach allows students to manage their time effectively, engage deeply with their studies, and pursue their professional aspirations.
Each student in the Prosillio program develops an Individual Education Plan (IEP), established and reviewed during Individual Education Meetings (IEM) throughout the year. These meetings involve the student, their family, and a learning advisor to share thoughts, discuss challenges, and set goals.
Students are tracked against The New Zealand Curriculum and can complete the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) with University Entrance. Instead of following a prescribed assessment route, each student works at a level that is appropriately challenging and reflects their needs, interests, and goals.
Students in the Prosillio Program will not miss out on important social experiences that are integral to a well-rounded school life. We understand the importance of fostering a sense of community and belonging, and we ensure that our students have ample opportunities to participate in enriching social activities.
