PROGRAM FOR LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENT STUDENTS
The Georgetown School Department, in order to assure equal educational opportunity, recognizes the need to provide a program for students who are limited in English proficiency.
To that end, the superintendent shall be responsible for development of a plan to meet the needs of such students, including regulations and procedures for identification, assessment, programming, monitoring and follow-up. A Language Assessment Committee is to assist in the coordination and overseeing of the program.
Any formal Plan required to be submitted to the Maine Department of Education shall be submitted to the board for approval on an annual basis or as otherwise required.
