STUDENT AWARDS, HONORS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

The Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the graduating class at Boothbay Region High School shall be selected as follows:

The student who has attained the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) as calculated according to school policy and who, in addition, has been in attendance at Boothbay Region High School for at least three full school years, including the year of graduation , shall be the Valedictorian.

The student who has attained the second highest GPA as calculated according to school policy and who, in addition, has been in attendance at Boothbay Region High School for at least three full school years, including the year of graduation, shall be the Salutatorian.

In the event that two or more students share the highest GPA, qualifying them to be the Valedictorian position, the Valedictorian honors will be shared equally. In this example, there would be no Salutatorian. In the event that two or more students share the second highest GPA, qualifying them to be the Salutatorian, the Salutatorian honors and that share of the gift will be shared equally by these two students.
