I hope you are staying safe and healthy, and using this time to reconnect as a family. While learning continues to be important, remember to find time to engage in other activities as well; go outside, learn a new skill, enjoy time with siblings and pets, write letters to seniors at our local nursing homes. I will be updating this page, along with all of your Google Classrooms, so we can connect weekly.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email.
*Continue to check Google Classroom when you have a chance to see what is posted (Khan Academy, Noredink, typing, etc). You will find opportunities to practice our most recent skill sets, work on typing, journal, or even enter some contests. New resources and ideas will be posted on a regular basis.
*In the event that you don’t have access to a device and/or the internet, consider journaling each day; write about your daily life, how you’re feeling, or work on some narrative writing as I know many of you enjoy it. Other offline activities include: reading and writing poetry, complete a double-entry journal (posted in Google Classroom and available in parent letter)
*Respond to some writing prompts:
*Choice
*Find a funny picture or object around the house/outside and write about it.
*Write a myth to explain thunder and lightning.
*Explain “and that’s what happens when you’re raised by pirates.”
*Describe yourself at the age of seventy. What do you look like? What have you learned?
*In your opinion, what are the seven wonders of the world? Remember, you can decide what they are.
*Which is more important - intelligence or common sense? Explain.
**If you need more ideas for writing prompts, find inspiration from your family members :)
