Please expect a monthly home learning challenge sheet to come home the first week of every month. Each home learning challenge sheet has a variety of reading and math activities and will include specific directions and due dates.
Students may need some help reading directions but should be able to complete tasks fairly independently and should not take longer than 10-15 minutes per activity to complete. Students will bring home math tool kits they may use as a resource.
Home learning is not mandatory— it is an opportunity to practice skills we have been working on in class, capture their wonderings, share their learning with others, and foster responsibility. If you find home learning is a struggle, please do not feel you have to push your child to complete the challenge sheet. I also recognize that life happens, please let me know how I can support you.

In an effort to limit the impact of storm days and absences on student learning, South Bristol School uses Anytime Anywhere Learning.
When we are able to anticipate a closure due to weather, an Anytime Anywhere Learning Choice Menu will be sent home. When a remote day has been announced for SBS, students are expected to document their learning using the log on the back side of the choice menu.
To earn attendance credit for learning on a storm day, students must work for at least 1 hour for grade 1 and 2 hours for grade 2 on projects connected to our learning.
Due: Our next school day.
Anytime Anywhere Learning Choice Menus are also available for absences due to planned absences such as appointments. To earn attendance credit for learning when out for a planned absence, students must work for at least 1 hour for grade 1 and 2 hours for grade 2 on projects connected to our learning.
Due: Our next school day.
South Bristol School recognizes that not all travel can be planned around school vacations. With this in mind, Anytime Anywhere Learning Vacation Choice Menus are also available for absences due to travel. To earn attendance credit for learning when out for travel, students must complete at least three activities per school day missed.
Due: Within 3 school days of returning to school.
