My name is Karen St. Peter and I grew up in Fairfield, Maine, but currently reside in Waterville.  I went to the University of Maine in Orono and got my first degree in Applied Sociology.  After graduating, I began to work at Goodwill Hinckley in their Staff Enhanced Program and realized being a teacher of kids with special needs was what I wanted to do with my life.  So back to school I went.  I attended the University of Maine at Farmington and got my Special Education certification.   I taught at the Glenn Stratton Learning Center and realized I wanted to work in the public school setting and have been at Winslow for the past 23 years.  During these 23 years I have gotten married, had 2 daughters ( Gabbie and Sadie) and 2 dogs ( Dudley and Darbie) that your kids will hear a lot about.   They keep me busy with their activities such as dance, gymnastics and field hockey.  I wouldn't change how busy they keep us.  We love to travel as a family, spend time on the lake and go on adventures.  You will often find me with a camera in my hands as I love to take pictures!!!!   I look forward to working with your child and my goal is to create a long lasting relationship with you child where they feel safe to take chances and work on skills that might not come easily to them.   I'm excited for a wonderful school year.
