Ark of Freedom Alliance Virtual Training

Human trafficking is an evolving global pandemic. As counter-trafficking pioneers, Ark of Freedom Alliance remains vigilant in bringing to the community the latest in research, best practices and thought leadership. We are excited to announce the offering of two specialized training opportunities for individuals and organizations committed to preventing violence and the trafficking of vulnerable populations.

Criminal justice system-involved boys and young men of color, Transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming youth, youth identifying as gay or bisexual, and youth engaging in survival sex to counter homelessness and substance abuse disorders can be some of the most at-risk persons for human trafficking, exploitation and other forms of violence.

Understanding the push and pull factors around the trafficking of these groups, the nexus between substance abuse, criminal justice involvement, homelessness, and exploitation, and survivor-informed service provision, is the first step in developing targeted interventions to more effectively prevent and intervene in their victimization. It is vital that counter-trafficking leadership, front line staff and community champions continue to invest in actively participating in the latest evidence-informed training available.
