If you're feeling...
You're in the right place!
What We Do:
provide written feedback on drafts to assist with idea development, structure, mechanics, and flow suggestions
offer live face-to-face sessions about your writing (virtually and at our campus Centers) to help you with idea development, structure, revision, and citing sources, as well as how to manage your time, respond to faculty feedback, and break through writer's block.
provide consultation for faculty to better support students, share resources, and create inclusive syllabi and course content
host free workshops and writing groups to help you further explore academic, creative, and professional writing
offer fee-based professional editing, coaching, and dissertation services (via the Writers' Exchange)
embody the university mission through delivering services informed by social, racial, economic, and environmental justice and dismantling systems of oppression that are entrenched in the academic writing process
What We Don't Do:
shame or belittle your writing - We believe in the unique style, ideas, and strengths your perspectives and experiences bring to your writing, to Antioch, and to your work as a scholar and practitioner.
emphasize a mythical "right way" to write - Wherever you are in your process of honing your writing skills, we are here to support you and help you find sustainable ways to write at and beyond Antioch!
do drop-off, line-by-line, fix-it-shop style editing - We focus on helping you learn how to edit your own work to support your personal voice and style in ways that meet your writing goals (but we do also offer fee-based copy-editing through the Writers' Exchange).
ghostwrite your assignments - We know your voice is valuable to your field of study and prioritize helping you channel your knowledge and passion through your writing to make it work for you!
