WHAT IS COMMENCEMENT?

AULA traditionally holds commencement activities for all academic programs every June. Commencement and Graduation are separate events.

Graduation is the official act of conferring a degree earned by a student when all degree requirements have been met.

Commencement is a ceremonial event where graduates, along with students expected to graduate soon, are recognized and celebrated by peers, faculty, and guests.

Participation in commencement activities is optional. In order to walk in the Commencement Ceremony, students need to have recently graduated, be on track to graduate during the current academic year, and/or be granted special permission to walk early.

For the 2024 Commencement, there will be three separate ceremonies held in the AULA campus courtyard in Culver City, CA. The three ceremonies will each highlight student success at Antioch. There will be speeches from graduating students and from the AULA Provost. Each graduate will cross the stage, receive their diploma, and have professional photographs taken. The events will be live-streamed for the remote viewing audience.
