student Engagement
In order to earn the student engagement seal, a student must participate in an athletic program or District sponsored student club to a meaningful extent as determined by the coach or advisor in alignment with the dates outlined at the start of the activity.
For this context, participation is defined as meaningful engagement during the amount of time for the activity (i.e. school year, OHSAA dates, etc).
The student must complete one of the following:
Participate in three years of athletic programs or District sponsored student clubs, for example:
Wrestling sophomore, junior and senior year
Wrestling freshman year, run track sophomore and junior year
Student council and art club sophomore year, art club junior year
Participate in one well rounded year which includes participation in at least three activities of various types:
Athletics, District sponsored fine art clubs, District sponsored academic clubs/competitions, District sponsored student clubs and/or organizations per board policy 2430
Completion of the appropriate paperwork is required:
Participation in an activity must include completion of the season/activity.
Athletic coding may impact the student’s ability to count the season as one of the activities towards this graduation seal.
