I graduated from Tarleton State University with a B.S. in Ag Services and Development in 1996 and began teaching in Roscoe. I taught there for six years and moved to Anson to teach in 2002. I just finished 28 years of teaching agriculture and advising FFA members.
Throughout my teaching career, I have trained many different FFA teams. I currently train creed speaking, chapter conducting, job interview leadership development events. Career development events that I currently train are range, wildlife, poultry and farm business management. The public speaking, stockshows and officers are trained by my teaching partner and myself. I love teaching agriculuture and training kids to compete in FFA events because of the variety. Since I have been at Anson, I have trained two state champion range teams and three state champion agricultural communications teams. These five teams along with other range teams have competed and placed in the top 6 at the national competition. I am now the advisor for the Anson High School Bass Fishing team.
I have a wonderful family. My wife, Shawnda, is the middle school secretary. My oldest son, Garrett, is a Farm Bureau insurance agent and his wife, Brianna, teaches 4th grade. Garrett and Brianna have one child, Charlotte. Grandkids are the best. My youngest son, Colton, is working in the electrical distribution field.
My hobbies include farming and ranching, fishing, and watching T.V.
