BUILDING THE VILLAGE TOGETHER
ANSANBL Global, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and nongovernmental organization. Our vision is to bridge the socio-economic gap worldwide by building the village together. We will achieve this vision by developing thriving communities that sustain themselves with individual and collective investments through these 6 pillars: agriculture, health and wellness, education, economy, housing, and safety.
ANSANBL is an acronym that means "A Network Sustaining, Advancing, and Nurturing Business Leaders", but it also means "ensemble" in Haitian-Creole. This word was chosen intentionally because of the musicality it evokes. With our network, harmony can be achieved like a musical ensemble. "Ansanbl" also brings up the idea of togetherness. We strongly believe that collaboration is key to empower all communities: through collaborative efforts, we can start "building the village together."
This idea was conceived after co-founders, Theodore Swett and Shownda Pagan, had a heart-to-heart about how Haiti cannot seem to catch a break. After the earthquake and the assassination of Haitian President, Jovenel Moïse, they had the idea to hand-deliver supplies to the Okoto community. The U.S. government urged them not to travel to Haiti; despite this, a team of three went and supported 100+ families. Solar-powered showers, lantern-flashlights, and a monetary gift to feed each family for a week were given to the families most impacted by the earthquake. The choice to hand-deliver was a deliberate one. We wanted to make sure that the supplies got into the right hands with no interference from outside entities. At that moment, ANSANBL Global, Inc. was born.
We know that there are many communities that need support. We work closely with the communities we serve to help them self-sustain. In an ideal world, communities will no longer need nonprofits; until then, we have projects in the United States, Ghana, and Haiti. We hope to expand into other communities where there's a need. We are currently seeking funding for our projects.
