Congratulations fellow artists!
This week, the Science National Honor Society hosted an engaging astronomical watch party designed to spark curiosity and foster discussions about science.
On Wednesday, we welcomed nine representatives from ANASA (Asociación Nicaragüense de Astrónomos Aficionados) for an enlightening seminar and watch party titled "Observing the Sky from the Earth."
Attendees had the unique opportunity to observe Saturn and Jupiter through advanced telescopes at our Science and Innovation Garden, making for a memorable evening of exploration and learning.
In Cycle 2 of the Debate Class, 8th-grade students sharpened their persuasive skills by exploring the three key elements of persuasion: ethos (credibility), pathos (emotional appeal), and logos (logic). They practiced writing and delivering speeches that effectively combined these techniques to influence their audience.
Additionally, students enhanced their use of rhetorical devices, such as analogies and rhetorical questions, to strengthen their arguments. They learned to strategically frame debates, ask insightful questions during cross-examinations, and develop strong rebuttals. The cycle concluded with a debate focused on persuasion, where students showcased their refined skills in argumentation and rhetoric.
