At the American Nicaraguan School, we’re committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in every child. One of the ways we bring this vision to life is through Big Questions Day, a special day during the week where primary students take the lead in their educational journey.
On Big Questions Day, students have the unique opportunity to explore their interests and passions by choosing from a variety of engaging stations. These include:
Music: Dive into rhythms, melodies, and creative expression.
Drama: Build confidence and imagination through role-playing and storytelling.
Innovation: Tackle challenges with hands-on problem-solving and design thinking.
Library: Immerse in the joy of reading and discovery through books and independent exploration.
Science: Experiment, question, and learn about the wonders of the natural world.
Art: Express creativity through vibrant colors, textures, and techniques.
By empowering students to design their own learning experiences, Big Questions Day not only enhances academic success but also nurtures emotional well-being and personal growth.
On Jan. 28th through the 31st we will have the Primary Field Days and Digital Citizenship Workshops. As parents, you play a vital role in shaping your child's future, and two essential areas of focus are digital citizenship and healthy sports competition.
In today's digital age, teaching children about digital citizenship is crucial. It empowers them to use technology responsibly, safely, and ethically.
Healthy sports competition is another vital aspect of your child's development. It teaches essential life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. By participating in sports activities like our Primary Field Days, your child will develop physical skills, build confidence, and learn to interact with others in a respectful way.
This week, our kindergarten students experienced a thrilling math lesson that brought numbers to life! By building a live number line, we added excitement and concrete meaning to their learning. This interactive approach helped them connect abstract concepts to real-world applications, fostering a deeper understanding of numerals.
We're excited to see our students grow and thrive through these innovative teaching methods!
