Our athletic director, David Faulkner, is attending the AASCA director's conference in La Ceiba, Honduras, and is simultaneously completing his certification as a registered international athletic administrator. This certification is recognized by the prestigious US governing body, the NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association), ensuring the highest standards of professional competence.
The lead instructors at this event are Honduran Juan Santamaria, a master athletic director and NIAAA representative for Central America, and American Scott Garvis, a master athletic administrator and "National Athletic Director of the Year Finalist" in the USA. Mr Garvis is also a recognized author and was recognized by the National Interscholastic Administrators Association with the Bruce Whitehead Distinguished Service Award.
We are excited to welcome Mr. Faulkner back next week when he will undoubtedly begin implementing all he has learned in our ANS programs.
MOTIVATION
We are thrilled to see our After School Sports program in full swing across all activities and age groups. We sincerely thank you for enrolling your child in the program, and we hope they are enjoying it as much as we are!
Record numbers of participants in Primary and Middle School have required us to adjust the dismissal for After School Sports.
Please take note of the following recommendations from our security team. If your child will be exiting through Gate 8 (CAA) or Gates 6 & 7 (pool and outside courts), these guidelines are especially important for you:
All vehicles should enter campus via the Main Gate and use the Red Line only, all the way to the CAA.
Vehicles picking up students at Gate 8, can leave the Red Line at this point and exit campus following the Blue Line.
Vehicles picking up students at Gates 6 and 7 must remain in the Red Line for the duration of their collection and leave campus following it.
Our volleyball team is in the second year of a strategic plan aimed at competing at the AASCA level. As part of their preparations for the March 2025 tournament in El Salvador, they are currently participating in the 'Copa Fuente Pura' and will soon begin competing in the 'Joy Cup,' hosted by St. Mary School in the coming weeks.
Playing in multiple tournaments simultaneously is challenging, but the girls are well-prepared, having completed the 'accumulation phase' of their preseason. During this phase, they were pushed to their physical limits, and underwent rigorous data testing, a requirement for all our varsity teams.
The hard work is clearly paying off. For the second consecutive game in Copa Fuente Pura, the team won 2-0, delivering a dominant performance against Colegio Bautista this week.
We are so pleased to see their growth as a team and individuals, and look forward to seeing just how far they can go for the rest of the year.
