Sports are back!
After School Sports began in full this week and over 500 athletes from Pathways to 12th grade have attended the wide range of activities we have in our program. We have record numbers of students signed up for sports this year, and it’s been fantastic to see the fields, courts, and other spaces full of young athletes enjoying themselves.

If you child is in sports, please see the following reminder regarding our program:
Our current policy is that parents or other adults should not attend regular After School practices unless they have a specific reason, and have submitted an email request to do so.
Numerous studies show that, particularly in young athletes, it is common that the presence of their parents at practices can be a distraction to them, and an added stress which inhibits their performance, growth, and most importantly their enjoyment.
There will be ample opportunities for parents to come and watch their children play and practice sports in the year, as we host special Open Days along with a good number of events and games, all of which we encourage parents to attend and will send email invitations for.
For parents that do attend any sports event on campus, it is strictly prohibited to take photos or videos of any minor whose parent/guardian has not given prior permission.
Your support in these matters is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions regarding this policy please feel free to contact us at the email address mentioned.
On Friday August 23rd, our ANS Gymnastics Team will compete in the Nicaraguan Departmental Games for Managua.
Our gymnasts have been working diligently in preparation for this event, and their upcoming National Championships, often practicing until 6 p.m. to perfect their skills in floor, vault, balance beam, and parallel bars.
We look forward to sharing their results in the coming weeks and wish them the very best for this first event!
MOTIVATION
This week our Varsity Track & Field team participated in the first of several planned “check-in” events as part of preparations for their premier event of the year, AASCA Track & Field, to be held in El Salvador in November.
Our Track team includes several current National Champions, and in the coming weeks, we'll be introducing you to the members of this outstanding group.
This week, our Boys Varsity Soccer Team will play their first friendly match of the season against the Athletic Argiro Academy from Masatepe. With nine starters having graduated last year, we’re beginning an exciting journey as we build an almost entirely new team to represent us.
The Boys Varsity Basketball team will be the first to compete at the AASCA level, in Guatemala this October. As part of their preparations, they are currently participating in the “Liga Juvenil,” held on Saturday mornings at Parque Luis Alfonso Velásquez. Their dedication to sacrificing weekends for their sport speaks volumes about their commitment and helps explain the success they are achieving on the court.
The Swimming team has also been active, competing in the Nationals at the Michele Richardson Complex. This prestigious event is exclusively for registered National swimmers. Next week, we’ll provide a full report on their performance!
Celebrate your achievements with the ANS Community by sharing your accomplishments, including awards, accolades, and acceptances to Summer Programs! Email us at share@ans.edu.ni, and you could be showcased on our Social Media channels.
Kindly ensure to include verifiable evidence of your achievement from the awarding institution or the program accepting you. This will allow us to feature your success in our Highlights and Social Media, giving your accomplishments the recognition they deserve!
