After School Sports Begin
In preparation for the new school year we want to take this opportunity to inform families of acceptable attire for PE classes for 2024-25.
The design seen in these images will be the only one that should be worn for school, with the prior design no longer considered as an official ANS uniform.
This uniform seen here is to be used for all of primary school daily, and for middle and high school Health & Fitness classes, and there is a large stock of this item available at the Tiger Store.
We thank you in advance for your compliance with this change which will allow us to strengthen our school spirit with a singular vision across our PE programs.
ATHLETICS STUDENTS OF THE WEEK
Senior Rodrigo is the standout performer on our Boys Varsity soccer team and will also be playing professionally in ‘Liga de Ascenso’ this season for Club Junior de Managua.
Rodrigo debuted for his new club in ‘Copa de Primera’ in July in Matagalpa, and we wish him all the best in this new endeavor which we are sure will see him grow as a player and as a person.
MOTIVATION
Sports in Schools
As the new season draws ever closer, everyone who will be involved, from administrators to coaches, staff, parents and student athletes, is readying themselves for the excitement and emotion that only sports can give us.
We are anxious to share with the community plans for the 2024/25 season and information regarding all factors relating to sports at ANS will be available to you very soon. But as we prepare to begin activities on the 19th of August, what are some of the important benefits for students who participate in school sports at ANS?
Regular participation in sports improves cardiovascular fitness, strength, and overall health. It encourages a lifestyle that values physical activity and wellness.
Sports help enhance cognitive functions, such as concentration and decision-making. It also provides a constructive outlet for stress, improving mental resilience.
Through competition and teamwork, students learn to manage emotions and build self-confidence. Achieving goals and overcoming challenges on the field or court can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment.
Taking initiative and guiding teammates build confidence and leadership qualities.
Navigating disagreements and finding solutions as a team fosters problem-solving abilities.
Team sports create a sense of belonging and camaraderie, strengthening relationships and school pride.
We are excited to begin After School Sports on Monday August 9th, and looking forward to sharing all matters regarding the program with families in the coming days and weeks.
Our Varsity aged students in Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field, and Volleyball have sacrificed their vacations to be on campus for the last couple of weeks for a especially designed “pre-season” program aimed at having them start the school year strong, and hopefully set us up for a successful season at the competitive level.
Athletes have been seen running around campus, working hard in the functional gym, and perfecting their skills on the fields and courts.
We are so grateful to all who have made the sacrifice to join us for this initiative, and to our excellent coaches who have designed every detail of this special program to benefit our athletes.
Sports for the rest of the ANS community will begin on Monday, August 19th, and the online signup for these will be sent to the community on the Wednesday, August 7th.
Before that we will be hosting a “Sports Fair” covering all aspects of our PE and After School programs, and parent meetings at the Varsity level to explain our vision for the upcoming year.
More information on these will be made available to everyone in the coming weeks, so please be on the lookout for this.
