Addiction is real and though I have not experienced it first hand, I know and love many people that have struggled or are struggling to become a better version of themselves. On the contrary, I also know people that are thriving at saying good-bye to their old-selves to make room for their new identity.
I have visited rehab centers and have talked to many people in recovery, each of them explain their addiction to be a not-so-distant memory making it "easier" to count every day of their sobriety. It's in the past, yes, but addiction is also a tainted, fun-loving memory that can't just be shoved aside. Sobriety is a lifestyle and a learned one at that. Meanwhile, addiction is a selfish disease that requires a selfless act towards sobriety.
So... drum roll please... I started Anonymous Bands... for YOU
_________________________________________
Sobriety deserves to be bowed-down-to because you are the strongest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Anonymous Bands Co. is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that I started to represent the kindest, strongest people on earth. My intention is to make sure that every person that is taking a step towards sobriety has, and is proud, to wear this band. I hope for A-Bands to provide comfort to yourself and warn others that you are are at risk to temptation and peer pressure.
Not on my watch though!
Wearing the Anonymous Band lets other's know there are limitations around you and I intend for the band to also give you more security to attend public events, even if it's just dinner. Once Anonymous Bands has entirely taken-off, we hope the bands answer these hard questions that are not comfortable or warranted to talk about.
The sober population should "glow up" a positive community and receive nothing but respect from perfect strangers and even colleagues. I want you to high-five yourself every night before bed because you DO have self control, self confidence and an ego worth stroking. There is only ONE Anonymous Band specific to this movement so wear it with pride, and show it off!
Let's make "anonymous" a little less anonymous and normalize being sober.
These bands are strictly for the recovering population and NOT to be worn if one is not sober or in recovery.
Thanks for reading and thanks for the support.
Best,
-Amber
P.S. I love you Dad. Xoxo
