Hello there! My name is Madi Lloyd, and I work in the science department at Animas High School. If you're here, you are probably in one of my classes. In the buttons below, you can navigate to your class to find information about our curriculum, projects, and maybe even some fun photos.
A little about me: This is my fifth year living in Durango! I moved here to pursue a master's degree in education at Fort Lewis College after my bachelor's in biology (University of Nebraska-Lincoln). My first semester of school, my practicum began with then-physics teacher Tina Trujillo, and I went on to student teach with then-chemistry teacher, Steve Smith. It was then that I also met my now-husband, Ande Lloyd, 10th grade math teacher and Animas alumnus. After a few years of being switching between being a mentee and long-term substitute, I finally landed in my position now, teaching chemistry and anatomy and physiology, along with a few other electives.
Outside of teaching, I have a passion for rock climbing, gardening, and spending time outside with the people that matter to me. I have a full-time cat, Hops, and a part-time dog, Tucker, who provide Ande and I with endless entertainment and snuggles.
