CDC guidelines
The CDC recommends anti-malarial medication for travel to Alajuela
Students and staff will practice mosquito bite reduction practices by covering up at dawn and dusk and at any other time that mosquitoes are active
The Rescue says they have not had a case of malaria in 30 years and that Alajuela is a large province around 150 miles and that malaria transmission is high around the Nicaragua border
The Rescue states that they have not had a single person contract rabies
