Honouring Ram Dass’ Birthday 🎂🎉🎁
(Today you would have turned 95)
We carry your teachings in our hearts, your laughter in our spirits, and your light in every quiet moment of stillness. Thank you for reminding us that the present moment is the only place any of us ever truly exist.🙏🏽
“It’s just an unfolding and I’m just part of a process, and I have a lot of patience now. I am merely seeing that the means and the ends are all interwoven. It’s a mosaic that’s unfolding before my eye, and the quieter I get, and the lighter I get, the more it all gets clear.” – Ram Dass

Hello, and welcome to the very first post on the new Angus By Design Virtual Hub.
If you are reading this, you might know me from my time as a bus operator, a fellow consumer ex-patient, an activist, or from my residence in Centretown Ottawa. Or, you might just be finding me for the first time. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your own path, I am glad you are here.
Where I’m Coming From
I just turned 50, a milestone that has brought a lot of reflection about where I have been and how I want to navigate the years ahead. Over the decades, I have gathered a diverse toolkit of experiences that inform everything I do today:
Over 35 years in community television, learning the power of shared stories and local voices.
30 years immersed in organized activism and peer support, fighting for social justice, and walking alongside others as a fellow peer.
19 years as an international Union member, understanding the importance of solidarity and workers' rights.
19 years as an attuned, Certified Reiki Master Practitioner in the Usui Method.
The Goal of This Space
The primary goal of this hub—and of Angus By Design as a whole—is to navigate my own personal wellness and recovery journey. I am creating a space to document my reflections, my daily practices, and my art. I am choosing to share this publicly in the hope that my experiences, tools, and insights might resonate with you.
My participation in sharing my skills here is not for the pursuit of traditional employment, and it is certainly not for fame. Instead, this is about participating in life and living fully. It is about sharing my skills and lived experience in a way that is meaningful, intentional, and mutually beneficial.
Boundaries and Community Protection
As I step into this space, I am doing so with a deep respect for the systems that keep our communities safe. I believe in sharing my skills while firmly adhering to natural law, as well as the Canadian laws and regulations put in place to protect us all.
This means operating transparently as a registered Sole Proprietorship , complete with formal contracts and an active GST/HST framework for all of my professional services. Setting these structural boundaries allows me to protect my peace, manage my health, and ensure that when we do collaborate or share space, we do so safely and ethically.
Thank you for visiting. Whether you stay for the art, the advocacy, or the shared reflections on recovery, I look forward to participating in this journey alongside you.
Here are 3 of my personal mantras. I would like to share them with you, and if you choose, let me know if they resonate with you:
“From Here to Fruition”
“Practice Makes Peer-fect”
"We're peers, not pros."

As part of the Angus By Design hub, I have set up an Amazon Canada Associate storefront. I participate in this program purely as a hobby and as a convenient way to point people toward the tools, books, and items I genuinely enjoy, use, or take an interest in.
If you are curious about the resources that support my daily routines, my art, or my wellness practices, this is a place where you can easily find and learn more about them.
A few important notes on how this space works:
Zero Pressure: There is absolutely no pressure or expectation for anyone to purchase these items. My primary goal is simply to share information and resources that might resonate with you or aid in your own journey.
Supporting My Work: If you do choose to make a purchase through my links, I earn a small commission as an Amazon Associate. These proceeds go directly toward supporting me as an artist and a community contributor, helping me sustain the work I do here.
