Sixteen vertical passport spreads are presented in Hammarkullen’s lightboxes. Through backlighting, the concealed elements woven into the pages emerge from the paper itself, transforming the documents into luminous images.
Sixteen vertical passport spreads are presented in Hammarkullen’s lightboxes. Through backlighting, the concealed elements woven into the pages emerge from the paper itself, transforming the documents into luminous images.
As the passports shift from handheld documents to 100 × 70 cm illuminated images, their hidden layers take on new significance. Watermarks, security patterns, and embedded imagery, once barely perceptible, expand into a complex visual landscape, revealing details that were always present yet rarely seen.
Due to the format of the website, only part of the image is visible. The complete work unfolds at its full scale in the exhibition.
