"As part of a school counseling program, school counselors provide resources and opportunities that help students explore their strengths and interests as well as career fields aligned with these attributes. These efforts help students plan for and choose postsecondary pathways and create opportunities for students to develop college- and career-readiness skills that help them successfully navigate postsecondary education and the world of work" (American School Counseling Association, 2024). This webiste is intended to guide parents and student to learn more about career exploration and pathways. There are many resources to explore and navigate in preparation for student career journey which students will be introduced to a lot more in middle/high school.

Trait Theory

Trait theory is one of the most influential theories that can guide people towards their career choice. "Our aptitudes, interests, and personality influence career choice. Trait-based theories help match people to their work environment. To use this career development theory, you need to observe and participate in the operating environment to determine if it is the right fit for you"(Shubha, 2021).

Work Adjustment Theory

"Work Adjustment Theory is a theory of satisfaction and needs, for instance between employers/worker environment (E) and employees/person (P). The theory posits that a person would act on environmental stimuli and the other way round" (2023).
