A top-floor apartment of a strange apartment building is rented. After a few days, a new tenant will arrive: it’s none other than the rainbow, tired, sad and without any colors. Some random events that will occur will bring it in contact with the other occupants of this strange apartment building. With the help of the children, the rainbow will carry out the missions assigned to it by the residents and thus will rediscover its colors and joy, acquiring environmental consciousness. The project «R.E.N.T (Resource. Energy. New Technology) to save the planet #eTw4Future » is based on the principles of Environmental and Sustainability Education and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations as part of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. It has been designed in SDG-related actions focusing on: good health and well-being (Goal 3), clean water and sanitation (Goal 6), affordable and clean energy (Goal 7), and climate action (Goal 13) . The process of collaboration throughout the project will require students to work in groups, exchange views, negotiate, agree and make decisions in a respectful and democratic way. Through steam challenges, robotics workshops, awareness campaigns and the use of new technologies, they will be sensitized to environmental issues and will form a Global Consciousness that will help them responsibly face the real world around them and become responsible global citizens.
The children in our classroom will make our future. To make our future beautiful and sustainable we need to work on this together. In this project we focus on three main topics: Land Water Bugs and birds This is what surrounds us everyday, what is so self-explanatory but also so fragile if we don’t take care and be gentle. This project creates opportunities to spend more time outdoors exploring and learning in the surrounding nature. It creates habitats to take care of nature and notice how everything is connected. By recycling and reusing we create knowledge of sustainability.
