Diverse Teams and Servant Leadership
The global economy presents many opportunities and challenges for organizations and their leaders. In this increasingly VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) world, managers need to develop a repertoire of new strategic leadership capabilities to lead transformation and attract, motivate, and develop increasingly diverse teams.
One of the emerging leadership styles is servant leadership. Servant leadership style differs from other leadership styles – such as transactional and transformational - in its focus on serving others, prioritizing their needs, and empowering them to achieve their full potential.
This workshop will equip the participants with a clear understanding of the challenges created by diverse teams and how servant leadership style can help them to better manage across gender, generational, and cultural boundaries.
Inclusive and ethical strategic leadership
This workshop explores the principles of ethical leadership, providing participants with a comprehensive overview of its core fundamentals and examining the crucial impact of ethics on leadership styles and decision-making processes. Additionally, the workshop will tackle the ethical biases present in each of us, potentially obstructing clear decision-making, and will use behavioral strategy concepts to highlight the challenges and opportunities intrinsic to ethical leadership. Through engaging discussions, participants will be encouraged to analyze real-world scenarios, thereby deepening their understanding of ethical dilemmas and developing effective strategies to address them.
Navigating Women's Leadership: Contextual Insights and Policy Pathways
There is a pressing need to advocate for a nuanced approach to women's empowerment and female leadership, one that embraces contextualization and prioritizes policy learning over mere policy borrowing and replication. By delving into Islamic sources and teachings that shape women's empowerment, we can derive policy implications that foster inclusivity. This approach aims to reconcile epistemological and cultural tensions in the discourse on women's empowerment while recognizing both local women and men as catalysts for change, capable of generating knowledge that resonates with their worldview.
To illustrate female leadership in the political arena, we turn to the captivating story and inspiring example of the Queen of Sheba. From this narrative, we extract valuable insights and policy implications. This methodology empowers policymakers to craft pathways to empowerment deeply rooted in local values and traditions, rather than relying solely on external models. By acknowledging the diverse perspectives and experiences within discussions on women's empowerment and female leadership, we strive to devise solutions that are inclusive and respectful of local norms and values.
