We want to tell the story of a cup of coffee as it passes through the supply chain, starting in Haiti and ending in a cup of coffee, and will cover many of the things that we have already discussed in class. We want to inform our audience about the details of the coffee supply chain, what the coffee industry looks like in Haiti. We also want to provide insight into the history of Haiti and coffee farming, including slavery and deforestation. We will be discussing the ways in which Haiti as a country and smallholder farmers generally have been exploited by the coffee industry. Along with that, we will be exploring the ways in which coffee farming can be made more equitable.
