We are soliciting participation from student researchers for:
15-min talks and
actuator demos (with an optional poster).
We are seeking one-page abstracts for 15-min talks where student researchers can discuss (1) development of new actuators, (2) characterization of, or metric selection for, soft actuators, (3) the design process of soft robotic systems with specific focus on how and why actuators are chosen, or (4) unique research related to the topics of interest to the workshop.
We are also seeking submissions for actuator demonstrations, in the form of either videos or live demos, with an optional poster. Demonstrations of actuators presented in prior publications are allowed. Submissions should include a link to a video of the actuator with a half to one-page abstract. Posters should present research on the topics listed above, while the focus of actuator demonstrations should be conveying behavior, mechanisms or operation or capabilities. Students may submit to both the talk and demo session, but participants for each will be selected independently. Safety and infrastructure needs for live demos will be reviewed prior to the workshop.
Abstracts can be submitted via email to golson@andrew.cmu.edu. The deadline for submission has been extended to Apr. 22nd, 2022.
