I am a game and experience designer with 20+ years of experience in indie analog, experimental, and retro games. Since Fall 2022, I have worked as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center.

I am also a PhD Candidate in Communication at UC San Diego. My dissertation research looks at hands-on, play-based learning in science & technology centers (STCs). The dissertation is tentatively titled: "Game for Anything: Becoming Citizens in Broken Science Arcades."

In my prior academic and professional life, I spent 17 years studying Chinese language, society, and politics and working in U.S.-Asia policy.
