Emily Keebler, PhD Student
I'm a graduate student in the department of psychology and a fellow in the Program in Interdisciplinary Education Research (PIER) program.
I am interested in the development of attention regulation and in applying this knowledge to educational domains. Currently I am completing a project on how visual embellishments affect category learning for preschool-aged children; I also am working collaboratively to refine a task that measures selective sustained attention in young children.
I previously studied how distributions of fraction arithmetic practice problems affect the accuracy and strategy selection of middle grades students on such problems.
Prior to entering graduate school, I was an educator in traditional and Montessori settings.
