We're a club here at CMU that provides a space and time for physics lovers to unite, participate in cool physics-themed events, and eat food. These events range from class registration advice to launching potatoes out of cannons.
Join us this Thursday at 4:30 PM in A301D for our registration event! You can ask upperclassmen and fellow physics majors about their experiences in classes you may be taking next semester.

We organize various events and hold regular weekly meetings during the Fall and Spring semesters. We have acquired and purchased a wide range of astronomy equipment over the years including reflecting, refracting, and catadioptric telescopes, binoculars, a range of eyepieces (varying fields of view and magnifications), sun filters, and some photographic equipment. This fall, we plan on touring Allegheny Observatory and going on a joint camping/observing trip with CMU Explorer's Club. In the spring, we will be going to Green Bank Observatory, a radio telescope observatory.

Our club’s objective to promote a strong community of support, service, and education for women studying the sciences and their peers. We strive to help women form connections between graduating classes and between women of different majors, give women access to information about women in academia and in the job market, and help students get to know their professors and their peers.

Here for You is a student organization that aims to address student mental health issues, especially the lack of support in the campus culture. We will be having bi-weekly discussion groups, holding campus-wide events to reduce stigma and educate the CMU community about mental health issues. We also organize campus resources, making them more accessible for students.

We compete in high-powered collegiate rocket competitions and provide opportunities for people of all skill levels to get involved and learn about rocketry. Our goal is to introduce students to rocketry through hands on experience building both personal rockets and a team rocket for collegiate competitions. For more advanced builders, we offer opportunities for national certification. During most of the year, CMRC is focused on designing a high-powered technical rocket for the NASA Student Launch Initiative (https://www.nasa.gov/stem/studentlaunch/home/). Members are involved in the design, fabrication, and testing of all components, including critical flight avionics.
