Owen Petrucci - 4th Year B-Arch
Carnegie Mellon's Center for Architecture Explorations is extremely important to me. When I was in 6th grade I went to my first C.A.E. Saturday Session. I mark that as the date I fell in love with architecture. I attended for multiple years and eventually came to be a student at C.M.U. because of it. I am a Senior in the Architecture Program. I have a love for architectural theory and sharing ideas. My past sessions have been centered around lens-building - in which we focus on a particular viewpoint to examine the world around us.
I look forward to meeting all of you!
Francesca Menéndez- 4th Year B-Arch
Hello, my name is Francesca, and I am a fourth-year B.Arch student at CMU originally from Miami, Florida. I explore architecture through an interdisciplinary lens, focusing on how anthropology, psychology, and history intersect with the built environment. I previously worked as a teaching fellow for Breakthrough Miami for three years, teaching Math, English, Science, and History to 5th and 6th grade disadvantaged students. Outside of architecture, I am also a Tartan Scholars ambassador, serving as a mentor to first-year students at CMU. I am so excited to teach architecture this school year to encourage students to become involved with their communities through architecture.

I have worked as a camp counselor for middle schoolers at an arts camp and am excited to now be helping to teach about architecture!
Kansateshri Megavarnan - 2nd Year Masters of Science in Sustainable Design
Hey, I’m Kansi! I’m in the MSSD program, and I love teaching kids and designing for kids. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity and help children figure out their likes. Watching them gain confidence as they explore and overcome challenges is great, and it motivates me to find creative ways to make learning both fun and meaningful.
Cynthia Zhang - 2nd Year B.Arch with Minor in Intelligent Environments
Hello, I'm Cynthia, a second-year B.Arch student from Philladelphia, PA! I am very passionate about accessibility and the social justice aspects of how spaces impact the environment and its inhabitants. As someone who joined a program like this in high school and felt like it made me truly appreciate how the design of spaces can truly impact how we navigate the world, I am very excited to hopefully provide meaningful mentorship and help students find their passions as well.
