Spring 2025
Topic : Community Through Carnival
Dates: January 18 - March 5
Times: 9:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.
Location: Carnegie Mellon University, College of Fine Arts Building (CFA), Room 214
High School: PlaySpace
Teaching Team: Owen Petrucci
Description: Playspace is a collective series of architectural workshops that covers the entirety of the design process conjoined with fabrication and prototyping real-world sets and items. We will be examining the relationships between architectural design and the responsibilities held by designers through affordances within public use. Play will operate as a program to build community within public use and generate shared experience within the public realm as a means of unification and compassion. It is in this that we can begin to build playscapes and understand the cultural value of play.
