The Music Department at Carnegie Mellon University invites the submission of electroacoustic audiovisual works to be screened during its 1st annual concert showcasing contemporary AV composition. The concert will take place on April 1st in Pittsburgh, PA at Kresge Theatre in the College of Fine Art.
Call For Submissions
Individuals are invited to submit fixed audiovisual media of up to eight channels whose composition reflects a unified approach to sound and image. Pieces of any length will be considered, with preference given to pieces of ten minutes or less.
To suggest a work for consideration, composers should fill out the following web form by February 1st: https://forms.gle/aRuuiwUSUCdAsjeg7.
The submission form will request the following information:
Composer’s Name, Affiliation, Email Address, and Bio (50 - 250 words)
Artist’s Name, Affiliation, and Email Address, and Bio, if applicable (50 - 250 words)
Piece’s Title, Duration, and Format
Program Note (50 – 250 words)
Statement on the piece’s sound / image relationship (50 – 150 words)
A link to a (stereo) version of the piece for viewing, compressed in H264 format. Composers whose submissions are not full resolution or available for download must commit to providing a full quality file by March 15th.
