The Index of Database Names linked above gives the full listing of every Person of Color known to live in Andover from first European settlement through 1850.

NAMES

Individuals are listed alphabetically. In some cases, where only one name exists, the person is listed by that name. Names, first and last, are listed in UPPERCASE. Children’s names are listed with SURNAME in UPPERCASE; first name appears in lower case.

WORKSHEETS

Individuals are listed alphabetically. In some cases, where only one name exists, the person is listed in alphabetical order by that name. Names, first and last, are listed in UPPERCASE. Their children’s names are listed with SURNAME in UPPERCASE and first name appears in lower case.

Names of wives are listed with their husband’s name. Their names also appear in the alphabetical listing with a notation in parenthesis (“see so and so…”)

Women who are presumed to be single appear in their known name.
