Once a year, all students will meet with their guidance counselor for their IGP, or Individualized Graduation Plan, Conference, starting in the 8th grade. Parents, you will be invited to your child's IGP conference, and we encourage you to attend. This is an important time in your child's life, as we guide him/her to start thinking about their future educational and career goals. This time will be used to discuss high school graduation requirements, post high school plans, 9th grade courses, and career clusters.
It's not too early for students to start thinking about career opportunities! SC adopts 16 career clusters to help our students start exploring the various careers available. For more information, click here: https://www.thinglink.com/scene/942392655751413763.
The Profile of the SC Graduate was developed through a partnership between key state business and education leaders to help shape policy and curricular decisions. The framework that supports this is vital to helping our state stay competitive in today's global economy; it addresses the need and solution for a sustainable, educated, and qualified workforce.
