Welcome to Midway! I am so excited to start a brand new school year together. We are going to have a great year. We will learn so many new things and make lots of great friends this year!
This is my 20th year teaching. It is my eighth year teaching Kindergarten at Midway. Before coming to Midway, I spent two years teaching Kindergarten at Centerville Elementary. Prior to teaching in Anderson, I taught for ten years in Florida. I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, second grade and spent a few years as a reading resource teacher. I love being at Midway! It is a fantastic school. I know you will love it as much as I do.
My husband, Cris, and I have three children, all of whom have come through Midway Elementary. My daughter is starting her sophomore year at Anderson University, my oldest son will be a senior and my youngest will be a sophomore at TL Hanna. Midway set my children up for success by instilling a love for learning, teaching them critical thinking strategies, and ensuring they met and exceeded the state standards. Midway Elementary is our school family and I am blessed to be able to teach here!
My kindergarten assistant is Wendi McLain. This is her fourth year at Midway. Her son is in fifth grade and her daughter will be in third grade this year. Mrs. McLain is patient, kind, and hard working. She is a great asset to our classroom and our Kindergarten team. We work cooperatively to ensure your child has the best Kindergarten experience. I know you and your children will enjoy working with her as much as I do.
Mrs. McLain and I are so excited to meet our new Kindergarten family! We are ready for a great year together.
