Process for Vetting Digital & Online Resources

Anderson School District Five has established a Digital & Online Resource Vetting Process to ensure that resources:

The district will only accept new software requests from January 1st to March 1st.  These requests will be vetted for the next school year.  You will need to put funding for this request in your school budget to be submitted to the district during the budget process.

Users may complete these steps from January 1st to March 1st.

Step 1: Review the current list of vetted resources.

Step 2:  A District 5 staff member can submit a request to have a Digital or Online resource vetted (this form is only available to A5 staff). You must have approval from your principal to submit this request.

Step 3: Email this form, Anderson Five Vendor/Product Evaluation Form, to the vendor to complete.

Digital Integration Specialist (DIS)

Each school's Digital Integration Specialist (DIS) will oversee any requests from a school. The school DIS will research the resource. Receiving communication and information from the vendor is an important part of this process and can take time. As needed, the DIS will work with members of the Anderson Five team (Technology Teacher Leaders, Librarians, DISs, and Administrators). The DIS will submit a request to have the resource evaluated by The Office of Instruction.

Office of Instruction

The Office of Instruction will review all requests to ensure that they align with the district's approved curriculum and if applicable, support the South Carolina State Adopted Standards. If approved by Office of Instruction, the request will then be submitted to Technology Services.

Technology Services

Technology Services reviews the resource for validity, confidentiality, security and implementation. As a part of their review, Technology Services adds the resource to the A5 Vetted Online & Digital Resources Database (approved and not approved).

User

Throughout the process the user is notified of their request's progress via the Help Desk system. Once vetting is complete and the user is notified of approval, they can then begin to use or purchase the online or digital resource.
