Maggie Long

Maggie Long is a 5th grader. She just turned 11, and her teacher is Mrs. Powell. She has one brother named Traynum. Her mom’s name is Amy and her dad's name is Josh. She has 2 amazing, adorable cats. She used to own one dog and a fish but they both died.

She joined Scribbler Society because she can let out all her very many emotions and control them by writing. No matter if it is a story, research or a song, it is helpful! One problem she has in writing is vocabulary and she would like to work on her description.

One fun fact about her is that she loves snakes. She one day wants to go to Paris and live in a small house with at least 50 snakes (no joke).

Some of her hobbies are playing softball, reading, shooting her bow, watching snake videos and hanging out with friends and family. She thinks this a really fun club and a great way to improve your writing so she thinks if you can, next year try hard to get in and go for it. She hopes you find it in you somewhere to like writing because it can change your world!

SuperHuman Day Off?

“Ahh, that's nice.” Carmen's feet fell into the sand and were covered by a layer of warm soft sand. It was her day off from being All Star and she was loving it. She had just got her stuff set up at the beach. There was no one around for miles and she was enjoying every minute of it.

WE-EW WE-EW WE-EW!!! The siren rang from her beach house and from her phone. “What is it now, Jamie?” she talked into her hearing voice communicator. “It looks like Mrs. Caren’s cat is stuck in a tree and the fire department is dealing with a campfire overload at the park. She is on 8th Street.”

She was frustrated. Didn't they know she was enjoying doing nothing? But it was her job and she had to go. “I am on it,” she said with an eye roll. She ran into the beach house and slipped on the white and gold suit with a giant black star in the middle, then flew off through the sky toward 8th Street.

As she got down the small orange kitten from a high branch, all she could think about was that sand and the wave crashing the shore. Mrs. Caren said thank you, she nodded her head, and she was off. She quickly changed and sat back down. Her feet, again, covered in a soft layer of sand. Then the siren went off again. In a split second she was in her suit and gone. She picked up a man in a nice suit and shook him around with no care. At least 100 wallets came falling down from his jacket. She smiled and flew him to jail. She locked him up and said thanks to the jailer and was back on the beach in no time.

She was really tired and finally got to sit there for a while. She fell asleep. The rest of 2 hours was crime free and she got a good nap in. At about 4:00, she was up and going to help move a tree out of the road. This time she left without any promise of joy or thanks from anyone. She was done. She was so mad that when the next siren went off, she ignored it and called the police. They did the job and she got the rest of the day all to herself.
