Spend your summer discovering German culture as part of a German family on our Summer Immersion in Germany Program. Start your day with a Nutella-centric breakfast, bike through the countryside, and experience Germany’s unique blend of tradition and modernity with your new friends. You will also have the unique opportunity experience German high school and shadow your host sibling through their day. For this program, our partners in Germany choose host families who either have teens at home or who can introduce you to people your age in the extended family or neighborhood.

If you have a strong desire to put your language skills into action, and feel ready to dive into a different lifestyle and culture, then this program is for you! You won’t spend a lot of time with other American students, and you should not expect to do a lot of traveling, but you will get an unforgettable glimpse into life as a German teen.

You will be met at the airport by a local coordinator and escorted to your host family. You will have the unique opportunity to experience going to German high school with your host sibling and eat, sleep, and play like the Germans do. Throughout your stay, you will have the support of the local coordinator.
