Background
Waste management is the practice to process and manage waste from its inception to its final disposal. Each type of waste can be solid, liquid, or gaseous with different methods of disposal and management. The disposal area may eat up a portion of the landfills which are a temporary solution for such a long-term problem. In land scarce Singapore, the land is slightly smaller than New York City and space is a luxury so it is crucial to manage the amount of waste for disposal and recycling.
Solution
Analytico Asia prepared the annual waste dataset originated from data.gov.sg. The dataset then fitted to the model to make a forecast about waste recycled and disposed of. Result shows that we achieved 94% accuracy for waste recyclables forecast and 95% accuracy for waste disposal respectively.
