Our Lessons

We recognise that we have a duty to prepare our young people about how to learn to enable them to be able to access the subject content.

Our department has identified four behaviours our young people must display in order to become successful learners.

All of our lessons will follow a similar structure in order to provide our young people with the high quality learning expereinces, every time they visit our department.

As parents, you have a right to know of this approach. Our lesson plan is detailed here.

We have high expectations of how our young people must act when in our department.

Similarly, as teachers and professionals, we commit to demonstrating behaviours while teaching our young people. All of our teachers promise to model these behaviours for learning at all times in our lessons.

We will teach you to show these behaviours for learning. 

Teaching our young people how to learn is as important as delivering our subject content. This approach allows our young people to become successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

In order to help you do this, this is what we expect from all of our young people at all times when in our department.
