West Covina USD, West Covina CAIn this workshop, participants will explore implementing strategies that will help math class “Come Alive”. Mathematical routines can help to ignite student engagement, enhance mathematical thinking, create mathematical discourse, and prepare students for upcoming lessons; not necessarily in a traditional way. The use of music, games, puzzles, videos, and more, can be easily implemented and are flexible enough to be incorporated into some part of the daily instruction. Routines can be adapted to address the needs of a wide range of learners in various grade levels.
