How to Prepare Before the Exam

What do I need to know before I arrive at the exam?

1. review all available novels

2. create study guides for them (see below) 

3. review Tips for the test

4. practice highlighting the exemplars with the rubric.

5. Review your literary devices handout and how to use SPACECAT

6. Create a few brainstormings using the sample questions on the home page.

In order to study for this paper you need to make sure and understand the following about the works you may write about: 

• Title

• Author

• Character names

• Setting

• Essential plot information

• Key conflicts

• Important themes

• Authorial choice

• Literary devices

• The context of the work

While you don't need to memorize long quotes, you should have specific examples to reference for each of these ideas.
