Notes from the Grand Councilor
There is nothing better than attending a Convocation (and having fellowship afterward) that is harmonious, energetic, spiritually fulfilling, and that invigorates a positive course through the following weeks until the next Convocation!
But how does that happen? Good Convocations need good energy, and good energy doesn’t happen by just passing the torch to the next person. Good leadership is needed. Leaders need the skills and tools to help facilitate good Convocations, resolve conflict or strife among members, create harmony, and provide the positive energy that inspires members and keeps them coming back.
Having good Convocations requires we prepare AB leaders to succeed – we need to give them the tools necessary to promote a harmonious environment. We know it works because when natural leaders have taken the roles, attendance rises and the ABs blossom under their leadership.
Finding natural leaders is rare, so we need to create leaders through training. If we want our ABs to grow with thriving Rosicrucians showing up, sharing their love and lessons, we need good leaders.
The Leadership Retreat is geared toward providing the tools necessary for new and upcoming leaders to focus on providing good Convocations, minimizing and resolving any conflicts, and maintaining harmony in their AB. It also provides knowledge on how to effectively administrate the AB, so those functions shouldn’t be a burden, and the concentration can be on providing an excellent experience for participants.
There will come a time when you want to give back or step up and help out in various ways – it’s what Love does to us – so the Leadership Retreat can help you get ready to do that. It can answer questions or help remove self-doubt about whether you want to serve or volunteer, as sometimes that hesitancy comes from not having all the information about how or what needs to be done. It’s a great step in preparation for future service and leadership.
Why is there a Leadership Retreat?
Affiliated Body leaders (and interested members) learn what is expected and receive training and a support network to serve in leadership roles.
Information is provided about how to be a better Servant-Leader.
More enjoyable and fulfilling experiences can be provided for Members and Seekers when the leadership has the knowledge and tools needed to create and maintain harmony in their Affiliated Bodies and Discussion Groups.
Better experiences may lead to more (or more consistent) attendance, which then leads to a stronger group that can provide support and camaraderie to assist people on their personal spiritual journeys.
What topics are covered?
Leadership Principles * Conflict Management
Excellence in Rituals * Hands-on training for AB Reports
And much more!!
