The Officers of the Rocky Mountain Region of AMORC would like to share information about the Region and its Affiliated Bodies. They also have interesting messages to share that we hope you find inspiring!
Greetings, Fratres, Sorores and Friends of AMORC!
Our Affiliated Bodies in the Rocky Mountain Pacific Northwest Region have resumed in-person meetings for over a year now, but attendance is less than before the Covid pandemic. We would love to see more attendance at affiliated bodies, especially visitors who return to become regular attendees. If you have never attended an affiliated body, or if you have not returned in a while, perhaps we can offer better programs and service to you. Please send me an email at ColoGC777@gmail.com if you are willing to share your thoughts on making AB’s more interesting for you to attend. Your responses are confidential, and will help make our affiliated bodies better.
A member recently commented to me that many members, new and seasoned, don’t seem to really work at being what Rosicrucians call “walking question marks”. The member suggested that perhaps it’s because it is so natural for persons to think they already understand situations so well that there’s no reason to question it any more. This may indeed be the case in many situations, but is there more to it?
In my career over many years, I mastered many things that are necessary to do a good job. After I had mastered the first one or two disciplines, I began to have a sense that I could my move on to mastery of other skills. Soon, it became apparent that my supposed mastery was lacking, that the world had evolved in things I had supposedly mastered, while I had not. It was a humbling, and yet welcome realization. It was time to begin questioning things I thought I knew. Does this also apply to the more abstract knowledge and skills pursued by the student of mysticism? It seems it must, at least if our Rosicrucian lessons are any indication. Have you noticed that the monographs periodically return to topics that were introduced in earlier lessons? And that there is always something new to be learned, even though the topic was covered in much detail earlier?
Sometimes, it may feel very childish asking questions all the time. Or maybe we worry that people will think we’re being critical in asking some questions, when all we seek is understanding (in that case, maybe we’re not asking the question correctly!). Or maybe asking questions feels like it’s taking too much time (especially when it reveals new areas to explore), which frustrates the desire to move forward quickly. Does it seem like the master of deception and misdirection, the ego, may be involved when we stop being a walking question mark? For me, this seems to be the case more often than not.
Hopefully, I can learn to be a more consistent walking question mark before life slaps me with another wake-up call that makes me realize I have been assuming I know truth while, if I slow down and think about it, there are still so many unanswered questions! What? Why? How? Discovery awaits!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Bill Hallett

"Your life is a sacred journey. And it is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, leaning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every stop along the way. You are on the path…exactly where you are meant to be right now…
And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beautiful wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love." –Caroline Adams
Beloved Fraters and Sorors,
I am writing this on Christmas Eve, 2023. This time last year Mountain Rose Pronaos had just moved into the Highlands Masonic Temple in Denver. We are now completing the lease agreement for the next two years, through December, 2025. This past year has been very good for the pronaos. We have a grand temple in which to worship and invite people to, and new members, older and younger. We have fresh ideas coming out of Imagine AMORC. We still have lots of work to do, but the vision we have been holding for Mountain Rose is manifesting.
With this new lease agreement, this will be our home, at least for the next two years. But, as I said, there is still much work to be done, and lots of opportunities to get involved. This will be the year for new energy and new growth, as we strive to share our Light, Life, and Love with the world. Again, I ask you to consider; What do you value most about your AMORC membership, and how could it be even more impactful? Working with the pronaos is a good way to expand and deepen your Rosicrucian experience.
Coming up on February 4, 2024, we have scheduled another New Member Initiation. If you are not already a member of the pronaos, we would like to welcome you. If you wish to be included in the Initiation, please RSVP: colorado@amorc.rosicrucian.org. Any member may attend as a witness, it is a beautiful ceremony.
Looking ahead, on April 7, our Book Salon will celebrate April as National Poetry Month by conducting a mystical poetry reading. This will be open to the public. I know there are Rosicrucian poets out there.
Mountain Rose Pronaos is a non-profit organization and is solely supported by AMRA donations. We have reverted to donations rather than member dues. Our new lease was only a small bump, but our reserves need some fertile growth before they are depleted completely. If you can, please support us with a donation. If you have any ideas for fundraising, here is an opportunity to share them. Here is a Paypal button (which accepts credit cards) if you wish to donate that way, or just drop your gift of love in our beautiful AMRA box. We appreciate everything you do.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Ed Hanson, CO Regional Monitor and Mountain Rose Pronaos Master
Beloved Fratres and Sorores,
"Mysticism teaches cosmic laws and principles by which we are brought into closer consciousness of our divine power. The mystical experience of union with the One imposes upon the mystic a moral obligation — to use this knowledge for the welfare of others."
-- Rosicrucian Manuscript.
H. Spencer Lewis has talked about how religions do not always fully understand the Divine Consciousness or Divine Power within us all. As mystics, we may at times learn great things from our monographs or about ourselves through the experiments. This may bring about intuition or illumination of things we start to learn more deeply. We start to learn virtues, principles, and laws that govern the natural order of things and this compassion and understanding brings us closer to the God of our own understanding. I hope during this winter season that you are able to reflect and form a deeper union with the One and you are able to share this goodwill or joy with others as the Rosicrucian new year approaches in March.
Best wishes for Peace Profound,
Frater Nathan Klotz

My Brothers and Sisters, Fratres and Sorores;
Service to the Light! We hear this phrase many times during our studies and discussions as a mystic. We all probably have different interpretations as to what this means, but let me reflect on this and maybe generate ideas that may broaden our understanding.
We have all heard of the law of AMRA – we can receive only to the extent that we give. Alright, that law is a little deeper than that definition but it is a starting point for discussion. We have been the recipient of vast knowledge and understanding through our affiliation with AMORC and TMO. The scales have perhaps been overly weighted on the side of receiving and we have to balance these scales by giving back. We can give back with money, serving on committees, writing discourses, getting others involved in our study or many other ways. That is the only way to expect to receive more.
Now, on not so selfish a note let’s consider the essence of the Cosmic – love. Our purpose in existing in the physical world is to learn to love, to evolve in our spiritual understanding of the events of our lives to the point that we recognize that the development of living in love is the ultimate goal of existence. Accepting that may be a huge leap of faith, but if you go into your sanctums and oratories and attune with the universe you will feel this love and KNOW that it is the essence of God and the Cosmic and all of creation.
What does living in love mean? It means the unselfish giving of oneself for the betterment of other beings, human as well as all the other expressions of life. When you live in love, you give and give and give some more to help anyone or anything that is in need of your help. And this giving is the essence of Service to the Light.
There are many ways to give. Some do it through donations of money or property. This is good and necessary for organizations doing service to the community, but may not fully satisfy the urgings of the heart. Perhaps your method of serving the light is to teach or mentor others in a skill or knowledge that you have developed. Maybe giving your time and efforts in support of a community or organization project better suits you. Another wonderful way of giving back to the Cosmic is just to be shining light in your community or group to which you belong, always radiating positivity, love, and wisdom, being a living example of what living in the light means.
Yes, there are many ways to be of service to the light. Find yours and work diligently to bring this Divine Light into our world. It is our duty and responsibility as mystics.
May you ever dwell in the Eternal Light of Divine Wisdom!

Provincial Master, Traditional Martinist Order
The first quarter of 2024 finds us at the midway point in the current two-year Martinist cycle. By now, our Associate, Initiate and SI classes have all settled in their studies. Conventicle discussions are robust and mind-expanding with so much insight and diverse knowledge from every student. While it may seem year-end is a long way away, I know from experience that the end-of-cycle initiations and activities will be upon us faster than we realize.
Martinist studies are not linear, but more circular in nature, in which the topics learned during one class cycle are studied more deeply in successive classes. After three class cycles, students have been exposed to many different ideas. Yet, if one only attends conventicles without additional study between weekend intensive classes, then that student is only scratching the surface. We have noted many times during our conventicles that these classes are more like an index to Martinist knowledge and that students should explore further on their own. In fact, during the closing ritual of each conventicle, we are reminded to “…individually strive to become ever more worthing of the privileges bestowed upon us by Martinism.”
While each of us are moved and motivated by different topics, here are a few ideas to explore in 2024:
The gnostic gospels, such as the Book of Enoch, Book of Thomas, Book of Philip, Book of Mary Magdalene and others (The Book of Enoch was a personal favorite of our Sister Terry Orlikoski);
The Kabbalah (I have found “Kabbalah for Laymen, Vols I-III” by Dr. Philip S. Berg to be very good introductions);
“Treatise on the Reintegration of Beings,” by Martinez de Pasqually (a seminal work to Martinists);
“10 Instructions to Men of Desire,” by Louis Claude de St. Martin (an excellent in-depth discussion of Pasqually’s numerology and the Universal Tableau);
“Sacred Contracts,” by Caroline Myss (This is a personal favorite that helps one to understand personal archetypes).
Students will note during conventicles that we often finish a discourse with an experiment; it is not enough to study alone as one must apply the knowledge. Everyday life is our “experiment” where we get to apply what we have learned. This is where we get the most from our studies.
I wish you all a happy and fulfilling 2024. May it be filled with mystical experiences, personal epiphanies and many Divine blessings!
May we all Ever Dwell in the Eternal Light of Divine Wisdom!

Grand Lodge has extensive online offerings for both members and nonmembers. Our Regional Officers have worked together to develop Colorado Rosicrucian meetings through Zoom. These meetings are embracing a geographically expanding Rosicrucian community that is much larger than our local affiliated bodies in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Our Rocky Mountain Regional Newsletter desires to offer all our members a space to share their mystical thought/feeling/perspective. These Reflections need to be submitted to Grand Councilor Bill Hallett (cologc777@gmail.com) before newsletter publication: by November 30, February 28, May 30, August 30. The writing needs to be 500 words or less.
We invite you to share your thoughts, insights, and experiences. Share your Light with us!
