Greetings, Fratres, Sorores and Friends of AMORC!
This past year, 2020, presented significant challenges to organizations such as AMORC and its Affiliated Bodies (or AB’s). Many organizations have responded creatively, and in many ways have thrived, in the face of much turmoil. AMORC has been an inspiration, growing in many new and exciting directions. The community of leaders at Grand Lodge and the Regional field officers (including the AB leaders) have formed close connections using web-based tools to work together from geographically separate areas and develop new online programs for members and non-members. They have collaborated on an array of engaging social media tools, and have updated Regional web pages with current AB and AMORC information with a more common look and feel to give Seekers a better sense of consistency about AMORC’s message. A number of other important projects are also in progress to better Serve the members of AMORC. Grand Lodge now offers regular online programs to members and non-members, while most Regions host online meetings for members. As a result, AMORC thrives, with membership growth and an enhanced level of teamwork among our officers and volunteers. Most AB’s, unfortunately, remain closed or greatly restricted in their in-person activities. Here in Colorado, we actively monitor state guidelines so that we may resume activities when health officials declare that it is safe enough to do so. Obviously, members will have to make the final decisions about their own participation when the AB’s resume operations. If your situation will permit it, we hope to see you soon!
Many people experienced, and still experience, great distress in many dimensions of their personal lives due to the global pandemic. If you are experiencing distress, please see the Metaphysical Aid section on the home page of this newsletter, and make a request if you have need. I certainly do not trivialize these very real challenges. But I also want to take a moment to express thanks for the good things that have been realized this past year. Things like new friendships with other Rosicrucians met at online meetings. The warmth felt from more contact with loved ones by telephone and email, knowing that face to face visits could not happen. Appreciation for the outpouring of support and positive energy for those who take care of others. A little more kindness shown by strangers. People have a remarkable ability to transmute base attributes into noble attributes, although it often seems that a crisis is needed to spur us to action! What do you find about 2020 that was positive, and can be carried into this new year?
We had many online meetings in 2020, initially as a substitute for canceled affiliated body meetings. As time has progressed, these meetings have become an interesting and unique way to connect with other Rosicrucians, including many who cannot normally make it to AB meetings. As a result, these online meetings have greater attendance than normal AB meetings. Indeed, participation in meditations (and especially metaphysical healing activities) in fellowship with other Seekers online creates a powerful sense of fraternity and connection. It differs in character from communing together in a temple, but is no less powerful and moving. If you have not attended one of these meetings, I invite you to make it a goal to attend at least one, soon. Please look for announcements in email, Facebook, or Meetup. In addition to the meditations, we have had many interesting discussions about such things as the Rosicrucian Code of Life, the Creed of Peace, the Contribution to Peace, the history of the Order, Pythagoras, and many other topics. When was the last time that you reviewed these fascinating subjects, or had a chance to discuss them with other mystics?
May the Cosmic bless you with great prosperity!
