Fraters and Sorors, greetings from All Points of the Triangle!
As we ascend the mystical mountain there are many footholds that we may find. One of these footholds that further the ascent might well be provided by a mystical partner.
Chief of these is the Master Within, the all knowing other of our dual nature. The Master Within appears in many forms and at many levels before as it reveals itself in increasing fullness to the student. Our cooperation with that master is central to everything else but that is not the mystical partner referred to here. This partner is a soror or frater who helps us in a different way to answer a key question that might be phrased as follows: “How do we realize that Master to an ever greater degree?” The monographs are clear: Read the monographs and apply the principles. Those guidelines stand undeniably firm in Rosicrucian practice.
While adhering to the ultimate truth of these principles, I would like to offer a brief plan for the use of and communion with a mystical partner. Several fraters and I first began using this technique many years ago and did so in a very simple way. We agreed to send and receive thoughts and impressions at a set time every Sunday morning and then, shortly thereafter, compared notes on what our attempts and impressions were. It would betray the experiential process to list the benefits we received but it seems appropriate to say that they were many and unexpected, as are all true evolutionary steps. We discovered differences that we never knew to exist, and variations not previously imagined.
If you are not yet at that stage in the studies where you have been instructed in the sending and reception of mental constructs, it might be very helpful to perform experiments common t both partners and then share and discuss your results of that experience. Note that the experiments and exercises must stem from our teachings. This will necessitate a review and help the student to reach a new level of understanding both experientially and in subsequent analysis of the teachings, now made in the light of those new experiences. The teachings then become more illumined through that experiential and analytical process. Of course, mastery of any mystical practice is a strong impetus towards the Rosicrucian ideal of the mastery of life and acts as a catalyst to even further progress.
The teachings of the Rosicrucian Order AMORC are, in both their depth and breadth, far beyond any initial appraisal. This truth is realized only if they are pursued with consistency and depth of practice and analysis. Many times members perform an experiment for a week, receive some benefit only to never return to the experiment again. Repeating that activity at a later point in the studies very often reveals a dramatic change. In my experience, it has often felt that, when returning in this way, the result was very often dramatically more effective, as if the experiment was being practiced for the first time but now with a far more profound effect. There is so much to work with! At a recent degree forum it occurred that if a frater or soror practiced all that is suggested in the monographs, she might be busy applying principles all day long.
Now that is an interesting notion.
