What is TMO? You see this message in each regional newsletter, you have, or will, receive from AMORC an invitation to join TMO at about the first temple degree, and you may have seen literature laid out at the local AMORC affiliated bodies. So, what is this mysterious Order that you come across once in a while?
The opening paragraph of the introductory booklet to TMO, “The Light Of Martinism” states: “The Traditional Martinist Order is an initiatic Order and a school of moral chivalry with its roots in the Western esoteric tradition.” “Through (Louis Claude de Saint-Martin) the Traditional Martinist Order is linked to a tradition with roots going back to the Primordial Tradition, at a time when humanity was privileged to unite itself freely with the Divine, without any intermediary.” “For Martinists, there is no knowing humanity’s fundamental nature except by studying the natural relationships which exist between God, the universe, and humanity.”
The Traditional Martinist Order (TMO) is an initiatory order that studies
the mysteries of life and the manner in which each of us can approach a spiritual reintegration with the Divine. We work primarily from a
Judeo-Christian point of view and study such subjects as Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism, Christian mysticism, a smattering of numerology, astrology, and such. We are concerned, primarily, with fostering within ourselves the discipline and attunement to allow us to regain the state of spiritual perfection we all had, originally, at the creation of mankind.
So, perhaps, this answers some of the questions you might have had about TMO.
Does such a study appeal to you? If you have ever considered joining TMO, the time is now right to accomplish this. Our classes, in which the teachings are given to the members, start in January of even number years. This means that soon we will be starting a new set of classes in the Martinist degrees. You can join TMO at any time but it is best to start the lessons from the very beginning and this is in January. If you are interested, or have further questions, you can contact me on the TMO gmail site rockmotmo@gmail.com.
