Our Mission
All students in the Amity Music Department will receive a comprehensive music education in a safe, caring, respectful and inclusive environment where they will gain the social and cultural awareness necessary to be collaborative members of the global community. The study of music provides students the skills necessary to become lifelong learners and literate, caring, creative and effective world citizens.
An artistically literate citizen has the knowledge, skills, and understanding to actively engage in the arts throughout their lives. This citizen has practice in processes unique to each of the five arts’ disciplines: The Importance of Continued Arts Instruction in the COVID-19 Environment dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts. In many communities statewide, arts education is intricately woven into the fibers of each school community, and families are continually touched by the district programming.
